Let's come together,
with Jewish food
Growing up in a suburb of Washington, DC, I would say my upbringing was that of a typical Reform Jewish family. We appreciated our culture, loved our “strong personality” family members, and celebrated the High Holidays.
My Jewish education was more from Adam Sandler singalongs then Torah scripture. One thing that stood out to me that I carry to this day is the importance of Shabbat. Lighting the candles, drinking Kedem grape Juice (MAZEL TOV!), and eating pounds of challah were all moments I cherish with my family to this day.
The idea of sitting down after a long week with your loved ones and enjoying a meal is a huge reason why I love food and started Zeitlin’s Deli. With the new year comes new beginnings and I am excited to share this new addition to Zeitlin’s with the City of Chicago.
